How to store dextrose monohydrate?

In the food industry, packaging and storage are two crucial aspects that also determine the shelf life and effectiveness of a product. dextrose monohydrate falls into the category of sweeteners in the food industry. It has a sweetness level approximately half that of sucrose (table sugar) and similar calorific value. It is widely used in various applications. Now, let’s take a look at the proper storage method for it.

  1. Choose packaging specifications that are suitable for the unit usage or have smaller production quantities.
  2. The packaging should have moisture-proof functionality.
  3. Store the product in a dry and well-ventilated area, and seal the bag after use. Since one-water glucose has good moisture-absorbing properties, it is not recommended to store it in a cold storage facility where there can be significant temperature differences that may cause clumping.
  4. Avoid stacking the product too high to prevent excessive pressure on the bottom, which can lead to clumping.
  5. Enhance the dryness of the storage room by placing sawdust or lime to reduce localized humidity. If possible, consider using dehumidifiers or similar devices for humidity control.
